7th Annual International Dinner to benefit Global Outreach Ministries

The 7th annual Cross of Life International Dinner was held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 5:30-8:15pm.  The all you can eat International buffet, entertainment, live and silent auction benefits  COL's Global Outreach Ministries: Galing Foundation (Philippines), Padhar Mission School (India), Malawi Missions (Africa) and Sus Hijos ((El Salvador).

GFI Mindanao "Best in English" students to be awarded Luci Lights

Roswell, GA - Sue Hoffer of Cross of Life Lutheran Church Social Concerns Ministry turned over 45 pieces of Luci (solar) Lights to benefit the students supported by Galing Foundation, Inc. 
 
"On behalf of Cross of Life Lutheran Church, these are solar lanterns that we are sending to the people of the Philippines.  These are not battery operated.  They rely only on the sunlight to charge.  We're praying that you will receive the light into your homes.  That these will help you enjoy life more and that every time you turn it on, please remember that Jesus is the light of the world.  May God bless you with these lights." - Sue Hoffer

A grant of $500 was awarded to CBDA on October 15, 2015 for the purchase of the much needed equipment (click here).

Queen of Angels Catholic School continues its support for Filipino children in Mindanao

On its 10th year long partnership with Queen of Angels Catholic School, Galing Foundation, Inc. received educational resource materials last June 3, 2016.

These donated books are now being shipped to be made available to children of South Cotabato and Sarangani Province in Mindanao. "It gives us great pleasure and great delight to help young upcoming readers in the hopes of making them fluent in English and become lifelong readers and lovers of books."- S. Van Rooyen

Queen of Angels Catholic School's mission and philosophy is Christ centered, and its goal is to live according to God's will and the teachings of Jesus, with the power of the Holy Spirit, as they meet the spiritual, academic, social and emotional needs of each student.

GFI wish to thank the families of Queen of Angels, Sue Van Rooyen (Media Specialist), Maureen Harkins ( Media Assistant), Julie Smith (Curriculum Director)and Sandra Spaeth (Administrative) for designating its resources to benefit the Filipino children supported by the organization.

More educational resources are shipped to Mindanao

A big thank you to Cross of Life Lutheran Church, Queen of Angels and friends of Galing Foundation, Inc. for their continued support for the Filipino children of Mindanao in Sarangani Province and South Cotabato.  Educational materials contained in GFI Box ID no. 286 were continuously donated by members of the church, school and community bringing the much needed support to the children raising awareness on the value of literacy.

Dr. Carol Woodley, School Administrator of Cornerstone Baptist Deaf Academy in Tarlac expresses their sincere gratitude to Galing Foundation, Inc. supporters for awarding the school $500 grant in October 13, 2015.  The grant received was utilized to purchase laboratory apparatus and sports equipments to be used by students of Cornerstone Baptist Deaf Academy.  CBDA is committed to improve students learning competencies and thereby increasing school standards.

Dr. Joel Aquino on the successful 2015 pilot Science workshop and his hope for future collaboration

Atlanta, GA-Multi-awarded Filipino-American teacher Dr. Joel Aquino received a $500 grant on May 25, 2015 to conduct a pilot Science workshop for high school teachers in Mindanao.  The grant award is to support Aquino's initiative in bringing valuable educational volunteer service to benefit the Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) in Mindanao in line with the foundation's Library Development and Educational Resource Assistance program.  The grant was made possible through the generosity of Cross of Life Lutheran Church, Galing Foundation friends and Combined Federal Campaign donors

Aquino teaches cross disciplines in Physics, Physical Science, Earth Systems and Geology in high school, college and graduate-level programs.  He teaches at Hall County Schools/University of North GA/Piedmont College and has received local, state and national awards. 

The workshop in Mindanao was a project made possible in partnership with the Provincial Government of Sarangani thru the Sulong Karunungan Program of Governor Steve Solon, the Schools Division of Sarangani Province and Galing Foundation, Inc. Mindanao Outreach.
