Programs & Activities:

I           L.D.E.R.A. (Library Development & Educational Resource Assistance)  Program is a system of receiving new and gently used quality educational resources from Atlanta donors for distribution in the Philippines through its outreach coordinating (volunteer) team of partners.

·        GFI Philippine Outreach (5 year cycle 2013-2017) includes recipients from the provinces of Tarlac, Sarangani Province and South Cotabato through the following schools &   public library:


o   (2) Lamlifew Elementary School in Mindanao

o   (3) Amado M. Quirit, Sr. National High School in Mindanao

 

·        As of December 31, 2013, GFI shipped a total of 25 “balikbayan” boxes (24x20x20) of educational resources shipped and distributed to the following:

·        17 boxes - Mindanao c/o Jocelyn Robles

·        8 boxes -  Tarlac c/o Chito Agapito & Dr. Carolina Woodley

·        In addition and through the office of the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Atlanta, Delta Air Lines generously donated 10,896 pieces of amenity kits to GFI partner schools in Sarangani Province and South Cotabato, Mindanao

 


 

II          C & L (Civic and Leadership) Program, is a system of coordination created to produce and organize events that are designed to promote civic and leadership opportunities:   

o   Annual youth leadership nomination process and recognition includes students from the State of Georgia.   The 7th Annual Youth Leadership Award initiative aims to promote academic excellence, volunteerism and active engagement among the Filipino-American youth in Georgia for the benefit of their communities and beyond.


 

 

 

III         C & S. (Collaborative and Support) Program is a system of coordination that promotes collaboration with organizations and advocacy groups established for the purpose of education, civic leadership and cultural literacy.
